Communication Partner Training Module

This is a dynamic Google Slide deck that integrates hyperlinks for navigation and free video resources from Aphasia Access (aphasiaaccess.org). Two research assistants (Chloe Schelly and Emma Loudin) from the Harmon Emotion, Attention, and Aphasia (HEAAL) Lab developed this module with oversight provided by Dr. Tyson Harmon and Kathryn-Anne Pertab. The module was based on principles from supported conversation for adults with aphasia (Kagan, 1998; Kagan et al., 2001; Simmons-Mackie & Kagan, 1999).

Relationship-Centered Communication Partner Training Resources

Relationship-Centered Communication Partner Training (RC-CPT) is an approach for working with couples impacted by aphasia that is currently being developed and tested by the HEAAL Lab. The resources provided here have been designed for the current iteration of RC-CPT but will be refined over time.

Relationship Roles Questionnaire (RRQ)

The Relationship Roles Questionnaire (RRQ) is used to initiate a discussion about changing roles and responsibilities post-aphasia and is integral to RC-CPT. Here, you will be provided access the necessary materials for administering the RRQ to a person with aphasia and the spouse of a person with aphasia.
